Residential Measurements

When unique circumstances or conditions arise, CVC can perform more in-depth radon measurements.

Continuous radon measurements
Continuous radon monitors are used to record radon concentrations as a function of time.  This can be very helpful in determining unique radon entry patterns as well as detecting test tampering by building occupants.

Continuous working level measurements
CVC has the capability of measuring radon decay products using continuous working level monitors (WL).  This method of measurement can be extremely useful in determining the health risk of the decay products of radon.  Radon decay products concentrations can be affected by High Efficiency Particulate Air Filters, air circulation rates, and the moisture content.  (see Radon Decay Product Measurements)

CVC technicians are certified by the National Environmental Health Associations National Radon Proficiency Program to use continuous radon and working level monitors and passive radon measurement devices.

Residential Mitigation

CVC has successfully mitigated over 2,000 single family dwellings!

Although CVC is internationally known for its capabilities in measuring and treating radon in large buildings, it continues to offer radon services in the residential market.  CVC's wide experience and in-depth knowledge often leads to situations where more innovative approaches are required to treat difficult-to-mitigate homes.

CVC was instrumental in assisting the US EPA with the development of mitigation techniques and standards that are now used on a nation-wide basis.  CVC continues to develop innovative approaches to reducing radon in residential structures.

Many residential mitigation techniques were developed by CVC or by CVC in conjunction with EPA-related research projects.
